Emmanuels visit: Day one

On Emmanual's first day in Santa Barbara I took him downtown on State street. We walked around and looked in the stores. We stopped at the Habbit and ate burgers. He said that it was the best burger he had in his life. After we sat down and ate we went to Footloose. He was laughing and having a great time. His favorite part was when they raced in the busses. He thought that was really suspenseful and fun. h also really liked all of the dance scenes. He would start to clap to them and dance. He started to cry in the very beginning when they crash and die. He was really depressed.  after the movie we went to Yogurt Land. he was very surprised by all of the flavors and toppings. He had never seen anything like this in his life. He got red velvet, vanilla and chocolate. for toppings he got cookie dough chunks and Oreo chunks. He got a large and finished the whole thing in five minutes with no hesitation. After a long day we went home, took a shower and went straight to bed. It was a great day for both of us.

Day 2:Stearns Wharf...falling through the cracks...more sweets...Sea Center...fun dialog...chicken, mashed spuds, and sleep.
Day 3: The Mission...his surprise...rose gardens and his mom-I really like that part...school comparison-great insight...no talking in the bus-another beautiful insight
Day 4: Beavers...too full for breakfast...animal comparisons
Day 5: tandem to Campus-such a good idea...water...a beach walk...shells and sea glass...fun ride home...tears and Titanic...a great day.
Day 6: Lotusland...magnetic rock? I have never been there...I love your closing quote about magic.
Day 7:Savanna May...really well done description of the boat ride...back to the Breakwater...Mom's dinner...a new yogurt place...an emotional parting

Savanna, what a beautiful blog. Even though the pictures don't show up (yet, check this site for adding them so they show: )
your words do such a good job describing all the wonderful things you did with Emmanuel. Your incredible descriptions make everything so real. I can hear your voice and picture everything you are doing. Thank you for taking such care to plan activities for Emmanuel, and thank you for taking all the time you did to write about them. I was especially moved by the times you thought about how Emmanuel would feel or when you had him compare things. Really, really good job.
Let's get those pictures fixed...let's add a video of some kind (a Titanic trailer, perhaps or a video you take yourself)...and let's have one more set of eyes check for simple things like a capital letter here or there. Just a couple minutes of edit and your words will sparkle. Again, thanks for such a touching journal.
