Emmanuel's sixth day

On Emmanuel's sixth day it was almost time to go home. I wanted to make the last two days unforgettable. So today I took him to lotus land. When we got there the first thing that he wanted to do was take  picture with the giant ants. I took a picture of him with every ant. Then we started our tour. He was taking pictures the whole time. When we got to the magnetic rock he was so excited! He thought it was the coolest thing ever. We spent about ten minutes there. We got left behind by our tour group but they didn't even notice. We caught up with them and then finished the tour. When we got back to the front he didn't want to leave. "This place is magical, I will never forget it." he said.

Emmanuels 7th day

On Emmanuel's last day we went out on my dad's boat the "Savanna May". My dad took us out to the battle ship. It was really rough weather. The sky was gray and so was the ocean. The wind was crazy too. The ride  on the boat felt like a roller coaster. We went up, down, side to side. It was a lot of fun! WHen we got out there they wew looking at us with binoculars. They thought we were terrists. Emmaunel was really shocked when we got out there because it was so big! My dad showed him all of the guns and weapons sticking out of the sides. My dad thought he knew everything, but he didn't. We stayed out there for about ten minutes. The way back was calmer that the ride out there. When we got to the doc, we went to get ice cream  at the Break Water Restauraunt. He got strawberry. He said it tasted really sweet and different (in a good way). When we went home my mom prepared a really good dinner. She made Salmon and a big cesar salad. For dessert we went to Yoyumyum. He was confused because we went to Yogurtland on Monday and he said that it was almost the same thing but not. We went home and went to bed and then we sid goodbye in the morning. It was really emmotional for us because he seemed like family now. When he got home he wrote us a letter saying thank you again. It was an amazing journey for both of us.

Emmanuel's visit day five

On friday we rode the tandem bike to Campus point. It was he first time he had ever been in the water in his life. The day that we went it was really hot. When he got in the water he said it felt like he had juped in to a pool of relaxation. I think he really enjoyed it. We were in the water for about two hours and then we went for a walk on the beach. We walked for about an hour. We found a lot of sea glass and shells that we took home. At the end of the day we biked home again which was a a lot of fun. When we got home we watched The Titanic. Emmanuel thought it was really sad but really good two. It was a really fun day!

Emmanuel's visit day 4

On Emmanuel's fourth day we went to the zoo. We started at the beavers " These animals are funny" he said. He thought the way they they ran around and then all of the sudden go underwater was really funny. when we got to the spiders he was really frightened, he said they don't look anything like the ones where he is from. He said some of the ones here are scarier than the ones he is used to. Our next stop was at the monkeys. He said they were really funny. When they made a noise he would try to copy the noise it was making. After we were done at the zoo, my parents picked us up and we went out for dinner to Rudy's. Emmanuel really enjoyed it. In the morning he was too full to eat breakfast! I took Emmanuel there because the animals are way different here, than where he lives.

Emmanuel's third day

On wednesday we went to the Mission. Emmanuel was surprised when he saw the inside of it. He said that it was huge!  We went inside and took a tour and then we went out to the rose gardens. He started to cry because he said that it reminded him of his mother. Because it was her favorite flowe. She had just died three months ago. We spent about ten minutes there and then I  took him for a walk to the old school campus. It was really big for a school to him because where he lives the schools are tiny. From there we took the buss home. it was surprising to him how nobody was talking because in his village everyone knows everyone so they always talk to each other . The day was packed of fun!

Emmanuel's second day

On the second day we went to Sterns Wharf. When we were walking out he was scared that the wharf  was going to break and he would fall in. We got ice cream at the ice cream store. He got chololate chip and I got Mint Oreo. He couldn't stop smiling when he was eating it because it was so good. Then we went to the Candy Store and bought candy there. He bought Red Vines and Jaw Breakers. I bought fudge and Jelly Beans. Then I took him to the Sea Center and he really liked seeing all of the fish and sea life there. When we got to the Sea anemone he was really scared. " Can I eat them?" he said. I said "No, haha they are just for looking at!" when he looked up and saw the giant whale above him the started to laugh. He said it scared him at first but then he thought it was really creative.  After the long day we went home and ate chicken and mashed potatoes and then went right to bed.

Emmanuels visit: Day one

On Emmanual's first day in Santa Barbara I took him downtown on State street. We walked around and looked in the stores. We stopped at the Habbit and ate burgers. He said that it was the best burger he had in his life. After we sat down and ate we went to Footloose. He was laughing and having a great time. His favorite part was when they raced in the busses. He thought that was really suspenseful and fun. h also really liked all of the dance scenes. He would start to clap to them and dance. He started to cry in the very beginning when they crash and die. He was really depressed.  after the movie we went to Yogurt Land. he was very surprised by all of the flavors and toppings. He had never seen anything like this in his life. He got red velvet, vanilla and chocolate. for toppings he got cookie dough chunks and Oreo chunks. He got a large and finished the whole thing in five minutes with no hesitation. After a long day we went home, took a shower and went straight to bed. It was a great day for both of us.
